Hi:
I just bought a 1966 DS I (hull # 2205) and it came with everything but the mast jack handle. Is there anything that I might have around that will work in its place?
Thanks,
Joseph

Maybe you can tell me if this a mastjack handle. Found in the bilge of what I think is an Ospray.
Send me an email for pictures

Isn't it a bar that can fit into one of the four holes on the mast jack in the old boats?

All I've ever seen used is a proper diameter brass rod that fits inside these holes on the sides of the mast jack. I never have had to use one, so I don't know much more than that.

i don't have one for my ds-1, but haven't missed it since i don't appear to have something called a 'mast jack'. my boat has the extra spreaders and handle on the keel.

You can probably find one in the same place you'd get a left-handed smoke stretcher, skyhook, or bacon-stretcher. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hey Joseph - did you solve the mast jack delema?
I think I saw you out on the Shrewsbury Bay Thursday night
I was out on my Bertram - 26' with a bright blue bimini
Still have not launched the Day Sailer, but will on Sunday
I did a heavy compound job on the sides and brought back most all the color
Hope to sail along side you soon
My sail # is 14002
