Rudder gudgeon leaks

Postby buhrmj » Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:33 pm

I have a 1981 Spindrift DS1. There seems to be some water leaking from my lower rudder gudgeon after pulling the boat from the water. I know I have another leak at the bottom of the boat that's putting some water between the hulls. I'm planning to pull the rudder gudgeon and reseal, etc, but I was wondering how it attaches. The gudgeon does not bolt through to the inside of the boat and there is a raised section where it mounts. Does anyone know if there is a wooden section between the hulls at the rudder location of if it's just a void and they bolt on the gudgeons before putting the hull sections together? Thanks for any info and advice.
