Sail Numbers

Postby Abaird62 » Tue May 30, 2017 12:52 pm

Ok, I have an HID # 16021. I have 2 holes where the ID plate used to be. How do I get a sail number so I can possibly racethis summer? Registration shows 1970 vintage.

Get a DSA membership via the DSA membership site at https://daysailer.org

Contact the DSA secretary (Mary Niederberger). Details should be on that website.

She can assign you a sail number that'll be reserved for you while racing.

An O'Day hull ID number of 16021 is earlier than 1970. 1970 is probably when the boat was first registered. My 1969 Day Sailer I has an O'Day hull number of 17877 (boat was built later than yours) with a sail number of 3229. As Greenlake said, the DS Assoc. can assign you a number or they may have a record of your hull ID number and know the number.
