bottomkote

Postby Roger » Sat Sep 10, 2005 11:27 am

I have reviewed the products available locally and have come to the conclusion that given my conditons, Fiberglass bottomkote is the product that will suit my needs. The can states that it should be applied, left to dry for a couple of days then immersed no later than 60 days. Here is my issue. I am planning to pull my boat out for the winter, then paint the bottom below the waterline, cover the boat on dry land, and but it back in the water in the spring. The can suggests however that the paint should be in the water within 60 days. What happens if it dosen't get reimmersed within this time period? Should I be waiting until spring to antifoul?

I am on an inland freshwater lake with a 17' daysailer, with a cold Canadaian climate in the winter.
