stearn traveler setup

Postby adam aunins » Mon Aug 27, 2007 10:55 pm

I have a 74 DS2. When I bought it the stearn traveler was/is setup as a triangle throught the stearn pulleys. The main sheet goes around one wheel of a double ended? pulley and cinches down around it. (yes I know a picture is worth a thousand words) the traveler runs over/through the other wheel of the pulley. With things this way the end of the main sheet is free to move from side to side of the stearn as it wants to.

Is this the way it came from the factory?

Should I leave it like this until I get alot more time in sailing it before I change it over to something I can tune and lock to one side or the other?

How much does that help in higher winds?
