Oh, man. My hull was wide open along that hull/deck joint. I have put a lot of time, epoxy, and 3M 5200 into that seam. I think it's watertight now. I'm glad I didn't have to discover the problem by tipping over.

Have to leave this thread soon because we're running out of pre-season here. 15 days 'til the marina opens. You guys on tropical coasts just keep quiet about how great it was last weekend & ya shoulda been there. I don't wanna hear it.

I wouldn't worry too much about corrosion under the shrink tubing in that you are sailing in fresh water. Another factor might be if your location is subject to heavy air pollution, otherwise no worries.
