DS 3 project boat in Deland Florida

Postby hotwheels » Tue Dec 24, 2013 6:17 pm

I went today to see an Oday DS 3 in Deland Florida. I was looking for a plug and play boat. It is a project instead. I already have a project boat, DS 1 hull # 21231, sail# 3923. Demasted in 1990, I'm trying to locate parts. I'm posting this in hopes someone will buy and restore the DS 3. If anyone is interested I can go back and take pictures and assist the purchase. There is a trailer, it will need tires, first thing. I have no interest in this boat other than finding a home for what was once a very nice sailboat.

Tim: I live in Ocklawaha, near Lake Weir. If you're interested in the DS 3 I'll give you the phone # and address.

Oh, OK, I know where that is. I think the WCTSS has an event on Lake Weir every year, mid-Summer-ish ...

I would be interested in seeing photos of the boat. I'm not in the market, and I'm on the west coast, and I'm I'm also in mid-project with another DS, but ....

...if my ship ever comes in, I've thought about taking all I've learned from the DS II and applying it to a DS III overhaul to take advantage of the greater freeboard. Being now painfully aware of the expense, I would probably be looking for a derelict that would cost next to nothing.
