A good article, although the rule references are outdated, about getting a good start. Written by Bob Smith in 1973, it also covers the importance of boat handling techniques one might not consider important in starts.

I've posted an original work, this time. Recently published in the Quarterly, I tell of an afternoon's sail on Dickinson Bay (complete with chart and photos)

Happy New Year everyone! With Christmas, New Years, and a computer software reload behind me I was able to resume scanning in old DS quarterly articles.

This one was originally included with the owner's manual of the Precision Day Sailer. It contains some history of the boat and many tips on caring for and sailing the boat.

Great owner's manual reprint. Thanks. Still wish someone out there had one for my 81 Rebel/Spindrift

Great article there Bob. This may solve my water problem. Is there anyone out there who has done this modification? I need to know how long the threaded brass nipple is for the uphaul hole.

Build a better rudder

Postby Bob Hunkins » Sat Jul 30, 2005 10:58 pm

Here's a article by Jim Fisher of fleet 1 from the 1980's. A lot of folks have built these rudder heads and they work well.
