Myself, my father and a good friend headed up to New Hampshire to sail on Lake Winnisquam. Conditions were excellent, 85 degrees, 8-12 mph winds out of the West Southwest and full sun. This has been a favorite of ours this summer due to it close proximity to home (1:10 minutes), awesome facility to launch from with 2 deep ramps, docks and parking for over 40 trailers. Not to mention there is no charge. It is 4238 acres, numerous islands and a kick ass sand bar we make a habit of stopping at for lunch. At the sand bar it is not uncommon to see the ice cream man swing through on his party boat selling all sorts of summer snacks.

This day we put over 14 miles on the boat. There is a fair amount of traffic on the lake but its big enough to handle it for sure. You do need a motor to get in and out from the launch as it is about 300 yards or so up a river that feeds into the lake. The current can be persistent with a definite channel you MUST stay in. It is well patrolled by both Fish and Game as well as Marine Patrol. We have sailed out here about 6-7 times this year.
