Just curious if anybody has installed a bimini on their DS1 or 2? Or maybe just a cockpit canopy over their boom...if so, what did you use and how did you secure it down on the sides? I was thinking about just getting an 8x10 white poly tarp and using that over the boom when I float and relax etc. I was thinking maybe putting some micro eye straps (4 each) on each side just behind the mahogany. Then I can just use bungy cords to secure the tarp possibly.

You could do that, or, you could also cut some slots along the length of some pvc pipe and just hook the pvc to the rubrail. The pvc is permanently tied to the bungees that are tied to the tarp or cover. Easy on/easy off and no hardware to screw to the boat. You can probably use 1" long pieces of pvc. You'd just have to see what diameter of pvc would work.
