Reefing a 4:1 setup

Postby 1987DSPrecision » Thu Mar 16, 2017 10:35 pm

I have the 4:1 mainsheet setup.
There are two blocks riveted to the boom.
I know the original DS 1instructions say the best way to reef the main is to remove the block on the boom, roll up the main, and use the reefing clew.

What would happen if I rolled my sail up around those two blocks on the boom and used a spare block attached near the end of the boom for reefing situations?

I would suggest putting reef points in your sail and set up jiffy reefing. You can reef faster than the roller reef system.
