Hinge Mast Conversion

I have a 1992 LSI manufactured DSI.
Would appreciate any guidance on whether it is possible to convert my non-hinged mast to a hinged mast.

It's possible, but it will not sail as well afterwards. Did you check out the parallel discussion on the mast-raising techniques?

thanks - clearly I need to do some more research. I wasn't thinking this would diminish performance.
