A few updates as I got to put some paint on it finally. Did 2 coats of bottomkote, 2 coats primer and 2 coats blue polyurethane. I’ll do one more coat of the blue and then pull the tape and add a white stripe. Then once it cures I’ll get it back on the trailer so I can start on the inside. Trying to work on it while on the horses is a bit sketchy.

Lookin' good! Very classic, I love a Navy hull with simple white or red stripe.

Finally done with the exterior paint! Also refurbed the trailer and replaced all the running gear and got it painted up. Now that it’s stable I’ll get to work on the interior paint and wood work!

looks like you are getting some excellent advice. All I can add is that you must get the Styrofoam out of the seats and forward compartment and replace with closed cell foam(pool noodles). this should be an easy topic to research on this page.

I think plate on bow was a red/green bow light fixture.

Yes tons of great advice! Lots of great info lately too. I was really worried about the rigging but feel confident about it now. Will sail it in a tame stock form at first but would love to outfit it with a spinnaker eventually as well.

The next project is to remove the foam from the inside of the seats and replace with pool noodles. I have some port inspection covers I will be installing into the seats as well.

The boat took a bit of a back seat during the pandemic but I am able to start on it again! Got the interior painted as well as adding some anti-slip to the deck paint. Fitted a new rub rail after some attachment point repair ao now I can move forward with building a new floor and installing some other items such as depth finder, bilge pump and extending ladder to the rear. Hope to have some rigging for it soon!

Depth Finder?? That's what the CenterBoard is for! ;-)

Otherwise, great looking boat! Keep up the good work.

Got a nice update today! I think this was probably one of the more time consuming parts of the build but the wood work on the interior is done. I had a lot of 2x2 pieces of Alaskan Yellow Cedar so I had to do a few glue ups and planings to get the side pieces made. Did a nice marine grade sealer and gloss finish that took about 4 days to apply so I hope it lasts. I think I went a little to hard on the tiller but eh I guess it won't flex lol. User igotit was kind enough to sell me some of his parts off his boat that arrive tomorrow so this thing should be hitting the water soon!

Lookin' good! I know floorboards weigh the boat down, real sailors slosh around in bilge water up to their ankles, etc, etc... But I really like the look! And keeping my feets clean. :)

Fine craftsmanship, congratulations!
