Hull Number/Class Number

Postby Guest » Sat Jun 27, 1998 12:00 am

I looked at a DSI today. The sails had no numbers on them, but the ID plate said hull no. 15160 and the class no. 2645. The boat is obviously a Type I (open cuddy, wood coaming, made by O'Day), but what year? I read one posting that said the last two digits of the hull no. are the year (i.e., in this case 1960). The Day Sailer builder history says that sail numbers less than 4522 were made by O'Day from 1957 to 1969. Help - when was this boat made? Thanks.

I have (class #) 3231 and it was built in (approx.) 1968. So I would say yours was built in the mid to maybe early 60s.
