Check the Day Sailer one-design rules, available from the Day Sailer class association. Become familiar with them, and if you have questions, contact the Class measurer.
Not doing so can make your boat illegal per the one-design rules. Even if you don't race your Day Sailer, the resale value of a boat will be higher if it's class legal.
