D&R Marine does not recommend to use the mast tabernacle if DS is on a mooring. What might be the reason?

I think it might be that there's more movement of the whole rig, with the tabernacle set up.
As the boat is constantly subject to wave action, and the rhythmic working of the mast, etc, things can come unscrewed.

No first hand experience, but I've read that this can actually happen -
Turnbuckles, screws in the mast, etc, can all work themselves loose, with the rig ultimately going over the side - While you're not there!

Probably most of this can be compensated for, with Locktighted screws, wired turnbuckles - Basically just make it so nothing can come loose.

A keel-stepped mast would stay on the boat.
