Funny Jib Sheet Shackle

Hi Folks:

Any idea what this thing is called? It's the shackle that attaches my jib sheet (singular, continuous) to the clew of the jib. It came with my 1958 DS1, but I don't think it's original. Sure is handy though! And GL, here's what I was writing about in my #37 post:

You open it by pushing the two "jaws" apart on their Z-axis, it's somewhat counter-intuitive till you get the hang of it. Wonder if "Mariner" still makes these, I can't find anything online. And no, they are not from the O'Day Mariner. A mystery....
