READ before listing a boat / responding to an ad

When you list a boat, you should "subscribe" to the topic (there should a be little link or button on the page to allow that). That way, you get alerted when someone replies to your post and you do not have to manually check for replies.

When you are trying to answer an offer for sale, and the seller lists some off-forum means to contact them, use them.

When you've sold a boat, please come back and edit the subject line of the first post and add the word "SOLD" like this. No need to delete your listing, the forum software will sweep it after 60 days.

When you list a boat, include your state or city in the subject line. This is a national forum, but buyers will be local.

It's OK to refer people to other online offers you've found, just make clear that you are not the seller. However, any offers for sale placed in the wrong section of the forum will be moved here, or discarded, depending.

Can I extend a listing I have posted in the "For Sale" section without having to rewrite it?

No.
But.
You can save the text somewhere and post it again later. But you'll need to re-upload any pictures.
60 days should be long enough --- usually.

If your boat sells sooner, please edit first post, and edit the subject line to indicate it sold (or at least add a reply to that effect)

Make sure you are creating a new topic for your listing --- do not append your listing in a reply to this thread.
