I have a 1980 DSII that about once a year (so far) the centerboard cable will jam between the centerboard and the trunk when raising the centerboard after a sail. The only way I'm able to free it is to haul the boat onto it's side in the water and remove the two plates, wedges and pull the centerboard out as far as I can and have someone work the cable while I push the centerboardup inside the trunk and he/she pulls on the cable from the cuddy. What am I doing wrong or is this a common problem on DSII's? Is there a better (easier) way to get the centerboard up?
Thanks for any help on this.
