Replace rope on CENTERBOARD

looking to drop centerboard this winter. what type of rope? how do i fix it to the centerboard? .

Type of rope: people have used all sorts of different rope, double braid, AmSteel, you name it. As long as it fits and is strong enough. If too thin, it can wedge where not wanted. Older posts show what other people used (I don't have an opinion as I don't own a DSII).

Your other question is perhaps too generic. What aspect needs fixing on yours?

There you can see how the line routes into a hole drilled through the face of the board. This hole is then filled with epoxy to hold the line in place.

I think it depends on year. My '84 DS2 has a metal plate which is bolted to the centerboard, attached to the plate is a wire cable which comes thru the hole in the trunk, then the uphaul rope is attached to the cable. See previous thread showing rigging of the rope and pulleys.

Yes. But once i drop the centerboard how is the rope attached? Whats the easiest way to get to it on the trailer.? i think i have enough room to jack it up a little bit? i dont want to put it on the lawn.

basically my ropes are fraying due to use from previous owners.
