Ay, there's the rub: for in that shipment of spars, what bills may come? UPS, FedEx, and DHL all limit their packages carried to 108 inches. Try calling a freight consolidator - they usually only do B2B, but perhaps they can point you in the right direction. Also try Old Dominion Freight for a quote. Remember it's going to have to be packed/crated somehow too...

In a past life, I used Yellow Freight a number of times. They required drop-off at their warehouse, but they may have been less restricted in length.

If you can't think of any other way, you can rent a U-box from U-haul, and the boom will fit easily. (It's a bit overkill, and not that cheap, but at least it's a definite option. In other words the perfect challenge to see how you can get it done cheaper.).

I'll check with Rudy at D&R to see who he'd use to ship it. I don't mind crating it and drop off at a terminal,but may still be expensive.

I talk to Rudy this morning and he said if your a business you can open an acct with Southwest Air and ship a boom for $150 or so ,but I'm not a business. I then checked truck freight and that was $400 to $600 depending how soon you need it. I don't think this is the boom for you,sorry. I wish you fair winds.
