broke boom linkage to mast

Postby dsisto » Wed Aug 17, 2011 10:30 pm

Not a good start; mast and boom went down.
The cylindrical piece front of the boom that slides into the mast twisted and
broke, falling into the water. I couldn't locate one at neighborhood sail shops. Can anyone recommend how I can purchase this piece. Sounds simple but w/out it, I can't mount the boom again.
thanks for pointing the beginner in right direction ..

Bummer !!

Welcome and sorry to hear about your mishap. Don’t feel alone though as most of us have had a disaster or two ourselves when it comes to sailing.

Sounds like your “Goose neck” was damaged. Check out the website below. Give them a call and ask for Rudy. He can help you out. Brad

the gooseneck slide is the same one used on a Hobie 16 if you are somewhere where a dealer stocks those parts, otherwise D&R is your best bet. I would order 2 to have a back up. Good luck.
