DS1 Centerboard

Postby barehanded » Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:23 pm

If anyone has a centerboard I'd be interested. I see some brand new ones online but very pricey. Maybe someone has a non-functional boat they're parting out and it'll be our lucky day.
Thanks

First, I must complement the names of your boats. Both are hilarious.
On the centerboards: What condition are they in? Any cracks? How square is the square hole?
Thanks!

I will pull them out later today and post some pics. Pretty sure I have three in various forms. One is the original hollow. One is really heavy.

I have to admit I'm curious about the really heavy one. On the one hand it might provide extra restoring moment. On the other it might be a pain to raise it. I could get a short "cheater" tube to make it easier.

The second one you posted, the one that's solid but not as heavy as the first one, looks like a good bet. Any idea what the shipping charge would be to Roseville, MN?

Thanks!

Next question is how wide is your centerboard trunk. Not all DS centerboard trunks are created equal. Do you have the original board? How thick is the head?

That sounds great. I'll check the measurements tonight but I'd like to start the process. If possible I'd like to get it by Tue the 21st which is next week.
Do you do Paypal? You can PM me with your info and I'll get it started.
Thanks!
