GL, Its a small 22 acre fishing "lake" called Dog Run Lake off hiway 50 near Salem ,WV. has a park no gas motors allowed. they stock it with rainbow trout a couple of times a year.has a depth max of 38 ft . the wind seems to run out in the summer around 4 pm. the problem with it , as you would expect you can barely get your sails set when it is time to tack. Its close to my place and good for testing out the boat and rigging configurations. next closest lake is Tygart lake, which is 1750 acres and 10 miles long. have not sailed there yet, those plans were interrupted by a little surgery I had. but next year, its only 39 miles from home.

Garry. it looks like this would be the kind of lake where you'd need to set your sails before pushing off. :)

Otherwise, having a narrow channel can be a great way to practice tacking or gybing.
