My Dad's sailboat-hull 1159

Postby DMADDD1313 » Sat Apr 30, 2005 2:08 pm

Hello folks. My dad recently passed away- very suddenly. He had just refinished a small sailing dinghy manufactured by Cape Cod Shipbuilding Co. and he had brand new sail made for it in anticipation of sailing it this coming summer. He sailed for the past 30 years on Narragansett bay in RI but sailed a 36' freedom to the Caribbean in 1992. The sail boat in question is marked with hull no. 1159. Any info would be great. My mom is still living in RI. Thanks

You might want to contact Cape Cod Shipbuilding at info@capecodshipbuilding.com. The hull numbers of Day Sailers manufactured by Cape Cod are >14250. Good luck!

1159 was built between 1957 and 1972. It was built by O day corp, if it was a daysailer.

I doubt it is a Day Sailer since CCSB doesn't really do refurb work on Day Sailers.

If the sail has a DS symbol on the sail, then it is and this suddenly this becomes very interesting. In any case, I hope you find what you need to know.
