Well, I have been smitten and purchased a second O'Day Daysailer. This one too will need some TLC but will shine again someday. Hull No 9243 Class No 1627. Looking forward to sailing our two O'Days side by side. This is Princess Smurf, she will sail in Central Minnesota.

2055 "Bobbie" Burlington VT

This is an update to the list apparently... as 2055 already has an entry. Judging by the neighboring entries I'm guessing she's a 1960 (?) Other insights welcome.

recently purchased a O'Day DS1. no sails or lines, last registered in 2002, no title, looked pretty bad but cleaned up nicely. needs more still but a big improvement. found the ID plate today.
MFG O'Day hull No. 15295 Class 2675 so i think its a 1967 or early 68 as i saw a 67 with 2635. any light would be appreciated. also has been Named "Sail Aweigh"

In those years they were being built at steady rates, so you could take a few numbers for which people suggest a year and plot them and then see where yours would fall (not all the years are correct, so you need to make a "scatter plot" and then estimate a line through it to get the best guess for when yours was built.

I just acquired a Daysailer II with a small plate on the inside of the transom engraved "HULL NO 24827 CLASS NO 4768". If I interpret the number list correctly, this boat is either late 1971 or early 1972. Do you agree with that?
Thanks

Looks that way from the surrounding sail numbers in the list in the first post. There's a bit of a "wiggle room" as sail numbers and hull numbers aren't perfectly in sequence in the earlier years, but basically that's the information we have.

Welcome to the forum! If you are new to sailing, new to sailing small boats, or simply rusty, check out: "Basic Concepts and Techniques". (If neither, check out the topic anyway and leave a critique in the neighboring thread linked from the first post).
