help or suggestions

I'm thinking about vacations, and yes - getting a late start.

Can anyone reccomend a location near Lake Erie or MI that lends itself to sailing? My hope is to find someplace that lets you keep your boat either in the water, or rigged on the trailer for a few days at a time while staying near by in a cabin or some such arrangement. A beach is always nice for kids too.

Does nayone know of someplace like this? OH, MI, ON or IN are fair game. Maybe even WI - although that's getting sort of far away.

This sailing thing is a problem now, because I want to include it in all aspects of the warm weather months.
