Wide low trailer ??

Postby Piffle4179 » Sat Sep 05, 2015 8:52 am

Am looking to upgrade my trailer and wanted a wide trailer that will carry the boat low between the fenders . Any suggestion on where to start my search?

It's not clear what you mean by wide and low. The ds normally sits low on the trailer with the keelson just a few inches above the axle. You can't get lower than that.

Wide such that the fenders sit outside the hull or have a minimum of 80" between the fenders and have bowed cross members to allow the keelson to be placed just above the axle.

Load rite has several v bunk boat trailers that sound like what you are looking for.

I think mine is a load rite 14f1000w and I've been happy with it, although I don't tow it long distances, at least so far.

Your local trailer shop might be able to custom make or adapt one for you. Or my trailer guy Eddie English in Milton, Florida makes them on site, sends them off for galvanizing, then assembles them with whatever you want. He does aluminum as well but galvanized will probably run $1500-1800 depending on tire size, fenders, spare, LED lights etc...
