DS Quarterly archived anywhere?

Postby RobH912 » Sat Apr 18, 2020 11:03 am

GreenLake - I've seen the post on this site that has numerous .pdf versions of articles that have appeared in the DS Quarterly but was wondering if there is any where to see past issues of the Quarterly? Also have looked on the DSA site but haven't seen anything there either.

While each user of the Forum has a gallery for their pictures, the only way to see their boats is to drill down into each user.

Really looking for more pictures of DS, pictures from regattas, pictures of DS sailing...

Any thoughts on where to see more pictures would be great.

Thanks
Rob

Go here (forum headpage) for regatta photos: https://forum.daysailer.org/

Which daysailer quarterly articles are you looking for? I have all the ones re: spinnaker on my smartphone, if you want em.

Tom - thanks for the link to the regattas and photos. Not sure where that link actually is from...

Just have lots of time on my hands these days (who doesn't?) and was surprised that I am not able to find more regatta photos and other DS photos on either the Forum or the DSA site.

There is pretty good link with .pdf files of older Quarterly articles in the first post of the miscellaneous section. Appreciate your offer to share spinnaker articles you've saved. May get back to you on that one.

Thanks!
Rob

Tom - Enjoying all of the photos.

2014 North American Championship Regatta photos include the previous owner sailing # 14061. Fun to see.

Thanks

I have all DS Quarterlies from 1970 through 2008 scanned as individual .PDFs (one PDF per Quarterly) that I am working on getting the Forum Admin to make available. Collectively they comprise 750 MB of files so he may not want to post them. If we can't get them online I can try to burn DVDs with them for a nominal media, mailing and handling fee.

There are two sites. The membership site (https://daysailer.org) and the public forum (https://forum.daysailer.org). They reside on separate servers hosted by separate providers. Because the DSQ was and is a member benefit, it might be appropriate to have it hosted on the membership site. I believe some of the articles are stored there already. Glad to hear that you are working with the powers that be on a plan.

Go to the main site, locate the editor, and ask!

I like softcopy for archiving, but enjoy sitting in an easy chair with a paper copy for reading.
