Very nice, and def. better in monochrome. Hope your Xmas is restful and full of joy. Santa bringing some snapshackle and orbit blocks down the chimney wouldn't hurt either!

He brought me some Red Breast Irish Whiskey :) and a new coffee maker, so I've got both night and day covered! In the meantime, cold Xmas Day was great, very cozy at home with my other half, but enough! Ready for beach days again (with her of course) ....

Happy Boxing Day! My favorite day of the holidays. After all the "making whoopee" is done, this is the day to do absolutely NOTHING and not feel guilty about it. :)

Just not to completely sink into my couch, I edited some old photos. This one is from a few Septembers ago, in extreme northern Portugal, within rowing distance of Spain. "Sonho da Vida" means "(The) Dream of (my) Life.' A sailing ship and a star to steer her by is definitely mine. Actually, I'm quite happy to float away on a potato chip, as long as I can fit a mast and sails on it!

PS: For the photographically inclined, all I did in processing this image was bump the blue channel up a bit, 25%ish. That's it, otherwise this is straight-out-of-camera. I had late afternoon sunlight (nicely directional and warm) and a fogbank had JUST lifted off the river, so I was essentially shooting inside of a giant softbox. Was perfect light!

Photo shows one of the great reason to own a DS. A little warm front made November 29th a great day for a sail. Marina had long been emptied. I was the only boat on Lake Michigan as far as the eye could see.

Let me clarify. By 'warm front', I meant upper 40s.
