Just back in, and heading for a shower

Postby Acornrunner » Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:57 pm

Great afternoon on the lake! 15-18 MPH with gusts much higher maybe 35mph. We ripped across the upper basin of Lake Springfield in bright sunshine, and had the lake mostly to ourselves. I feel so blessed to have an 80 degree day in late October. I did ship about a gallon of water on one gust, rule number 1 of Sailing, don't forget your sailing. A gust hit us and all three of us had to scramble to even out.

I sailed from and back to the dock no motor needed, pulled the plug on the bilge at the end of the afternoon and got maybe a cup of water, not much more.

She is an incredible boat, but really wants a boom vang added.

Happy Indian Summer! Glad you got a good sail in, can you send some of that wind my way? ;-)

Yeah, a good boom vang TOTALLY changed my DS1 experience, well worth rigging up.
