Seal for Centerboard Control Lever

Postby Buster » Sun Sep 22, 2024 7:20 pm

I have a 1964 DS, with the centerboard controlled by a lever on the starboard side of the trunk. There's a seal next to the trunk, either rubber or neoprene, that needs replacing. Any clues for sourcing this replacement? Please answer to my email: tvbeckham@yahoo.com.

In principle any rubber washer of the correct dimensions would work, but DR Marine has the exact one you need. You may have better luck phoning in an order than trying to use the online form.

I just fabricated one today and will test it Saturday, the dimensions are 3" OD, 1" ID, and 1/4" thick. Both DR and Cape Cod Shipbuilding sell the washer, but I wanted something I could use while waiting on shipping, so I will let you know how it goes! I just used a gasket kit to cut it, but I doubt it was really necessary.
