The official, un-official Daysailer number list.

Postby PromptCritical » Tue Sep 20, 2005 12:34 am

I want to make a list of all our boats. Just send me a PM with your Manufacturer, boat type, hull number (or sail number if no hull number) , the name of your boat, and your location. I will add them to the original post in a somewhat logical order. Do not be surprised if I add numbers that I find already posted in other threads. Let's see how many we get.

A more up-to-date list can be found here

Got 'em.

BTW: Does anyone know how I can make columns to clean up the list?

Interesting: I thought numbers were stamped in order. texas's boat is a 1975 but his number is between my boat and Roger's which are both '74's. And Roger, are you saying you don't have a hull number? 'Cause I thought all boats made after 1972 had to have a HIN on the transom.

HIN

Postby Roger » Wed Sep 21, 2005 6:29 pm

Yes I do have a hull number stamped between the gudgeons. When I reviewed the postings I thought I would go with the conformity of the sailnumbers that others had posted, so I only posted the numbers that 'should be' on my sails.

I don't think my boat was ever raced, although I am not sure if the sails are original. They do have the DS on them, but no sail number.

My HIN is XDYD77840974.

1965 (I think) O'Day, DS1
Sail Number that should be on it is 1868. (I have a different number actually on the sail. )

The Boat is in Columbus Ohio, Fleet 98.

That's a great site! Their vinyl lettering is cheaper then I can get made locally. Let me know how yours turn out.

Since the transom sits so low in the water, I'm thinking about putting the name on both sides back toward the stern...what'dyathink?

Uh, wrong thread, but that sounds like a good idea. Mine has evidence of "O'Day" decals in that area, which I think Cape Cod sells replacements for, so I'll probably be getting some of those. I'll be putting my name on the transom, to cover up evidence of the old name.

Uh, sorry about the wrong thread thing; but you got the message anyway. My hull has been repainted so there is no sign of decals anywhere, the only O'day emblems are the little ones on the sides of the cuddy.
