I raced the hell successfully as a kid out of it in the 60's and 70's at Chatham Yacht Club.
I had been sailing it recreationally since, twice going out the 1987 cut and sailing around Monomoy Island.
Water froze in it a few years ago and there is a crack somewhere in the hull.
I'm sure the repair is minimal.
The best thing about racing the DS1 was that it wanted to point high, so in a big wind I would have to fight the lee tiller.
I have floor boards, clip in rudder and tiller, mast and boom.
Blue fiberglass molded seats, indictive of a '63.
Blue deck.
I rebuilt the substructure for the winch over the centerboard with 1 inch mahogany in the late 80's.
Center board and lever (i had it cast after it broke in the 80's) is in tact.
I loved this boat and over the years my dad and I kept it in racing condition.
It has a trailer, but not sure of the bearings.
It is a wonderful boat and obviously it has been part of our family since 1965.
I just am hoping someone would want to take it on to race or just play on it.
