I was just wondering what sort of wood did they use for the floorboards on the DS I as well as for the wood trim in the cockpit ?

As for the cockpit trim, my '85 DS 1 has teak.

Thanks for the link, noticed that your daysailer looks a lot like mine same deck color and hull color, mine's number 3078.

My 1968 vintage DS1 has teak floorboards and teak coamings.

I've owner two DS I's over the years and had the pleasure of refinishing the floorboards several times. Mahogany was used for the floorboards and the combing in each boat. The raw mahogany was stained and sealed with a red mahogany filler that Interlux sells. Then it was varnished. This was pretty common back in the 1960's and 1970's when teak became very expensive and mahogany was cheap. The wood between the centerboard and the seats is teak however.
Also, the original floorboards used ringed copper nails. These are still available but I've replaced mine with stainless steel screws.
