DSII Mast and rigging on DSI

Hi all,
First time poster here. I am wondering if the spars for a DSII will fit the step and partners on a DSI. I may have the opportunity to pick up a free DSI with no rigging and I already have all the rigging and sails from a DSII that was hit by a snowplow 10 years ago and is sitting in a field behind my house.

Is the rigging compatible between the 2 models?

Also, I am wondering if anyone has any info on models (I saw the hull number index but the serial on this DSI does not seem to fit).

There is no date on the hull, but hull # is 22425 class # 4138 Made in Brampton Ontario.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The only difference is the distance below the cuddy opening is less on the DSII due to the false bottom. You can build up the step on the DS one, or if the mast is hinged, add a longer section under the cuddy.

Matt-
In regards to your questioning the numbers on the boat: from the info I've gathered, the numbers seem to "fit" just fine.

The hull number is the count of the number of hulls that were produced by the company (yours being the 22,425th boat). The class number is the count of the number of Daysailers that were produced by the company (yours being the 4,138th Daysailer).

In light of the other members' info and comparing it to mine, I would guess that yours is either a 1969 or 1970. My boat (hull #23830 / class #4448) was purchased new in 1970. Based upon those numbers, there were 1405 O'Days built between yours and mine -- 310 of which were Daysailers.

I'm not sure how many Daysailers the company was producing each year at that time, but I've seen some alleged 1969's with class numbers between 3700 & 3800, so that puts yours right in that '69-'70 range. Hope that helps.
