I'd like to see some pictures of some lockers you all have put together and installed.
I am very curious to see how everyone is stowing gear, specifically on the DS1.
I'd also like to see how you have any tie down eyelets, anchor points, straps attached that could be used to lash gear.
I am very tired of everything not having a home and just sort of setting in the buddy floor.
Here are a few things that really need a fixed home:
1. Anchor and Anchor Rode
2. PFD/Fenders
3. Emergency/Legal stuff
4. Food/Water
5. Sails not being used
6. Electronics
Of course there is much more but that'll get us started.

I have a DS II that I have done some long range camp cruising with which requires the carrying of supplies, water, and camping gear for 5 or 6 days. I didn't want my loads to shift, although the cuddy cabin can fill up faster than one would think. The DS I has the compartments above the forward storage, the area in the stern and along the cockpit seats which the DS II does not have. To secure things I wanted to stay in place I added some 1" wide strap staples (loops) inside the cuddy cabin to put nylon straps through. I also added eye loops with 2" diameter rings that I could clip carbineer hooks to easily with their gear. In many of the places where I attached a loop on the inside of the cuddy cabin I put another on the outside. The strap loops on the outside of the cuddy just above the side deck I originally used to strap down my oars until I got tired of my jib sheets snagging on the oars all the time. I moved the oars inside the cockpit and strapped them to the bottom edge of the seat bench.
I also added a small net inside the cuddy assessable from the cockpit to carry small loose items. I have lanyards on everything and attach them someplace.

How did you attach the Strap Loops and Eye Loops?

I used SS machine screws with SS nyloc nuts and washers. I put some sealant on the washers as well. The strap loops I usually put two together using the same fasteners, one inside, one outside, although I rarely use the outside ones.

The key to John's method, better described in some earlier posts, is that the fasteners go through the cuddy wall above the deck. That location is way less critical in terms of being watertight and also there's easy access to both sides. If Nyloc nuts don't appeal, you could get capped nuts (or whatever the true name for those is) and use loctite to keep them secured. (The front ends of the DS1 wood coamings are secured that way, and, even without loctite, the cap nuts seem to stay in place.)
