Turnbuckles

In a stiff wind, the turnbuckle connecting the starboard shroud to the deck of my O'Day Daysailer tore out. We had to take turns holding down the shroud as we limped back in to shore. Now I am unable to find a comparable turnbuckle on any site that sells Daysailer parts. My turnbuckle screws into the shroud at one end and attaches to the deck by way of a D-shackle at the other. My daysailer was built in 1974, so I presume it is a DS II. All that I can find are turnbuckles that screw in at both ends. The only alternative seems to be to buy a pair of new shrouds with the turnbuckles attached. Does anyone have a less expensive solution?

Hmmm - some pictures of the damage might help folks give constructive suggestions ... ?

I'd like to see photos, too, but in the meantime, here's a source of turnbuckles, many variations:

I also would like to see photos, but was recently at West Marine and they had a selection of turnbuckle bodies and ends for sale. Just another option.
