Turnbuckles won't stay tight

The turnbuckles on my Daysailer II have been loosening up while it sits on a mooring. Are there supposed to be two nuts for each turnbuckle, one on either side, to keep them tight? Mine only came with one nut per turnbuckle.

It would help to know what kind of turnbuckle you have. There are several different designs.
My generic suggestion would be to either try loctite, or see whether there's room for an additional nut, and whether it's possible to add it. If so, getting a suitable SS nut shouldn't be too difficult.
Some turnbuckle designs can be locked with a wire or pin, but since you mention that yours has a nut to lock it, that may not apply.

With closed turn buckles and nut on each end, I use rigging tape around each nut to keep it from loosening. Electrical tape works also, but may need to be freshened up midsummer. Don't use a "sticky" tape (duct) as it will gum up the threads.
