New Owner Question 3; Restoring topsides

My new-to-me DS II has oxidized topsides just like its hull. Does one address it just as one does the hull (rubbing compound then polishing compound then wax)?

I'm a bit concerned getting floor and benches too shiney / slippery. Is this a valid concern?

yes for two reasons

getting it slippery is hazardous to your footing, and getting the topside shiney is hard on your eyes (seriously) when the sun is reflecting off of it. I power wash the top every year and leave it at that.

non skid

Johnsons floor wax, and similar products are designed to have a very effective NON-SKID formulation that will add to the safety and cosmetics of your decks and seats.
