Hi Bob,

I will be there and Sammy Trahan has agreed to sail with me. Did you come up to GRSA in Richmond when we hosted in 2004? If so, how long it took you to drive. I'm startting to plan the trip and would like to get there early enough to get measured in and have the boat put together for the Juniors.

Hi Gary, Glad to hear your are coming!

In 2004, we made it in about 2-1/2 days. I can't recall he trip back off hand, but on the way out we made it to Alabama - Birmingham, I think. Second day we got to Virginia, then it was an easy drive to Richmond. We tried to get off the interstate once in a while to see things, so if you really pushed it hard, I think two days is doable.

Bob, Lakewood Yacht Club looks outstanding and we're looking forward to Daysailer NAC's in a little over five weeks!
The really important questions though is just how cold is the beer in the bar?

Mike..with any luck we'll have some donated beer and this being Texas, it will be on ice and cold. What brand do you prefer? We'll have Lone Star and maybe some Shiner Bock and hopefully some local craft beer from St. Arnold brewery here in Houston. No Bud Lite!

Bob, the saying goes "Life's too short for crappy beer" and I'm a firm believer in that saying!
I can count on one hand the number of times I've been desperate enough to drink a Bud Lite.
My small ice chest for this evenings weekly Laser Series has two large water bottles and a half dozen of my favorite regional Micro Brews covered in ice.
I'll drink at least one of the waters (if not both) before and in between races and of course a beer after the races as I unrig.
But I have "friends" that have come to expect that my ice chest has only "good beer" in it and they're always welcome to partake.
There should be at least one more Northern California DS registering in the very near future.
Looking forward to NAC's in five weeks!

Dean Iwahashi's last minute entry now makes eighteen Daysailers registered for NAC's with a third of the fleet is coming from California and five of us from Northern California! The Measures hail from the Central Coast region.
I spent yesterday afternoon with #2772 hanging from it's sling using the fork-lift at work as I fit #2772 to my Thistle double-deck trailer and dolly for fit and possible modifications.
Pretty darn close fit in regards to the dolly that a couple pieces of 1/4" closed cell foam won't cure.
The trailer will only require a new molded rear bunk to elevate the transom 3-1/2" to provide clearance for the sides of #2772 to clear the side rails of the trailer.
Cuddy Cabin of bottom boat clears the bottom of the dolly.
Big sigh of relief that only minor work is required to make it work!
A little over two weeks until Craig Lee and his wife Mary Niederberger leave with #316 & #2772 in tow for Texas.
Four weeks until Mardi and I fly east to Houston.

Bob Blake, Jr. should be coming down so that would put the count at 19.

Received an e-mail from Bob earlier this morning that he was indeed planning on attending and that was very good news!
