I've been looking at the IdaSailor high performace rudder as an addition to my boat. It looks like a much better system for getting the rudder completely out of the water for beaching, gunkholing, etc. I don't race so class legality is a non-issue. Has anyone on the forum used one on the DS or any other boat?

Sorry, I haven't used one, but if I had the $400 for one I wudda. You might try some other foil makers for pricing before going ahead. Try Phil's foils!
