need some help on an ID

I am hoping someone can help me ID this daysailer I picked up awhile back I know it was made by American fiberglass and in 74 and that is about it.

I am including pics however please go easy I am just starting the restore and clean her out oh and yes there is a dataplate as you can see in the one pic but but the only thing readable is American fiberglass corp

It's not an O'Day Daysailer, the subject of this forum. It looks like one of the competitors.

The photos remind me of the Discoverer - a boat that is discussed in this thread.

Looks like an American 16, also made by American Fiberglass. The forum for AFC boats is https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_ve ... 2Fmessages

I used to have an American 16. Overall length is 15'-10". If the length is longer, then it is probably the Discoverer. If you have the original sails, the sail symbol is A16.
