Mounting a Motor Bracket

Postby pjk170 » Wed May 13, 2009 4:32 pm

Hey y'all,

Now its time to mount the motor bracket, which will put the motor about 4-5 inches off the stern. Any suggestions on how far off center we should mount a motor bracket?? I'm assuming that the answer is "far enough so that it doesn't interfere with the rudder" but I want to make sure i'm not forgetting anything else.

Thanks again.... :D

ensure that when tilted forward it clears the gunwale. I ended up mounting a peg on the side of my cavitation plate so that it would touch the rudder blade and prevent the prop dings you speak of.
