Hello, I am the proud new owner of a Daysailer II and am looking for an owner's manual for it. I am new to sailing and need diagrams so I can order a few parts that are damaged. I feel very fortunate as other than needing bottom paint and a good cleaning the hull appears to be in good shape. I purchased the boat with sails and trailer for $350.00. I can't wait for next year to go sailing. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Thanks for the manual! There's not much to it, but is very good to get that basic info. I could have used in a year ago when I bought the boat and everything was unknown. Do you see that small note that says there's a 10" piece of elastic chord on the CB wire? I learned the hard way. Without it, if you hit bottom the board swings up and can jam the wire. It happened. I added the shock chord and will not happen again.

I am going to go out right now and check my "new" (1983) DSII as I do not think that I have the shock cord as well. I might just be needing that manual as well.......

I'm looking for a DS II manual. Although I understand it's just a couple of pages, any information would be usefull. I need some help concerning the CB and understand there are some notes regarding the CB and a mysterious piece of elastic that keeps the CB from folding up on the up haul cable when you run aground. Looking to sail my newest love '73 hull #9151 this spring.

Roger, thanks for hosting that other page. Since it is all text, I have been intending to transcribe it to a text file, so that it'll be easier to read and faster to download. I've been swamped lately, however. If anyone has time to put that file into ASCII text or similar, I'll be happy to post it on the website.

I include diagrams of the mainsheet and jibsheets for boats prior to 1975, a diagram of the cb rigging, a memo from O'Day about cb problems (Thanks Rudy!), a diagram of the boom vang O'Day used (still available!), and a list of DS and O'Day web-sites. You can also call or visit D&R Marine (508) 644-3001, Rudy will send out a copy of the manual for a $6.00 charge. He also has many other O'Day Manuals.

If anyone wants a hard copy of the manual, in an upgraded form, I have reprinted my manual into a booklet form with added diagrams and information. I have included information from Rudy at D&R as well.

I would love to get ahold of a DSII manual..the more diagrams the better (sail number 7266) I think I'm taking water into hull, and I don't think I have the mainsail rigged properly...I don't have a traveler rigged. Anybody sailing a DSII on Cape Ann, Ma.?
